Park Ridge Board Cherub Brunch

The Park Ridge Board was founded in 1989 by Carole Par, whose husband John was born across the street from the Settlement and spent most of his childhood there.  Early projects included promoting memorial/appreciation cards to friends of and donors to the Settlement, food drives for the food pantry, a holiday party for 40 School Age children, a Christmas Cocktail Party and a Settlement neighborhood festival.  In 1992 the board adopted the Settlement’s Emergency Services Program and hosted its first Angel Brunch which include silent and live auction items.  The event continued until 1999, and then took a one year hiatus before returning as the Cherub Brunch.  The Park Ridge Board decided to “go co-ed” in 2004 as a way to further involve members' husbands.  Today, in addition to the brunch, ongoing board events include the holiday party for School Age children, adopting several families at Christmastime, hosting a BINGO party for Golden Agers in the spring, and volunteering to serve Thanksgiving Dinner and pack food baskets for the holidays.

The 2012 Cherub Brunch will take place on Sunday, November 18 at the Park Ridge Country Club.
